Friends, as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic, it has been expressed by our District Superintendent, along with the District Advisory Board, that all Nazarene congregations across Virginia are to cease all face-to-face church gatherings. For us, this includes Sunday Morning Connection, Worship, the Shift, Wednesday evening prayer and Bible study on Thursday’s. This will be maintained until the end of this month and reevaluated as needed.

For now, we are developing plans to make worship available to you along with ways to stay connected. Your church board and pastoral staff will meet via video conferencing to further develop our plan for worshiping, serving, and sharing the Love and Light of Christ to all around us in innovative ways. Please stay tuned and we will update you as soon as possible.

We will ask God to mercifully protect us and guide us in God-fearing faith through times of chaos such as this. We have often said that the church is not the four walls of the building, but rather the believers that gather there, that go into the world spreading the gospel and the love of Christ in a broken and hurting world. Therefore, we hope you will join us in prayer as plans are formed, and as God opens doors of opportunity for loving Him, loving others, and serving both. How marvelous to live in an age where technology can be used for the glory of God! He is on the move and has poised our church to be a conduit of His Loving Presence to those around us in new and exciting ways!

Remember: He is our Rock, our Fortress, and our Very Present Help in time of need!

    Grace and Peace,

    Pastor Kris

Good Afternoon church family at Rockbridge!  I hope you have been able to get out and enjoy some of these beautiful warmer days!  As we continue to see the transition of the seasons we are seeing and have felt the effects of sinus trouble, the flu, colds, and many other respiratory infections.

As many of you are aware of the wide-spread coronavirus, we at Rockbridge Community Church are taking extra precautions to make sure that our gathering spaces are safe and sanitized spaces so that we can come to worship the Lord Jesus together.

God’s Word continually reminds us that we are to not fear when trouble comes our way or to panic as the world does but have a perfect peace that does truly surpass all understanding.  Proverbs 3:24-26 tells us “24When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. 25Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, 26for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.

Here are a few links from the Centers for Disease Control and the Virginia Dept. of Heath that might help you find out more accurate information about the virus.

Here are some basic tips to remember:

    • If you are not feeling well or have a fever, stay home.
    • Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds (sing Happy Birthday to yourself twice)
    • Cover your cough/sneeze with a tissue or shirtsleeve
    • Greet people with holy elbows!

We are having our normal services including Sunday Morning Connection at 9:30 and Worship starting at 10:30 am.  If you find yourself unable to attend, we will be using Facebook Live to livestream our entire worship service starting this coming Sunday.  In addition we will continue to have the audio recording of the message available here on our website.  We also have a smaller venue worship service on Thursday nights called the Shift that starts at 7:07 pm that is also an option for you to gather and to be encouraged.

We offer online giving for you to give the Lord's tithe and your offering if you are unable to be present for worship.  We are thankful for your continued generosity in supporting the ministries of Rockbridge Community Church of the Nazarene.

We look forward to worshiping with you this weekend at church or if you are not able to make it, join us on our Facebook Live Stream.

May the Lord bless you, keep you, and strengthen you by His amazing grace!

    Grace and Peace,

Pastor Kris and the Leadership of Rockbridge Community Church of the Nazarene
