Our Story

How it all started...

Rockbridge Community Church of the Nazarene (RCCN) was the original vision of Pastor Kerry Willis of Harrisonburg First Church of the Nazarene (2002) and the pioneering work of Kris and Ruth Peaden (2005) who have a heart for the lost, broken and hurting.   Built on a foundation of prayer, and the calling of God,  Kris and Ruth moved to Buena Vista in 2006 with their two boys  and began Bible studies with those who shared the same vision.  By the fall of 2007,  worship services began with 11 people in attendance.  Our desire was, and continues to be, a relational church with an environment for worship, where individuals feel welcome and accepted as they are.

Expanding the vision...

RCCN exists to share living hope in our community and our circles of influence around the world.  We accomplish this through family worship, discipleship of all ages, and missions both at home and abroad.

Where we are headed...

We believe the impact of the ministry of RCCN will continue to grow as we remain faithful to the call of holy living and sharing living hope with the world around us.  We believe that God has a very blessed future for the ministry of RCCN.  By faith, we believe God will fulfill the vision for recovery ministries, Christian Counseling Ministry, Daycare/After School care, and more.
