“Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” - Matthew 19:14
Relax. God put the wiggle in children. Don’t feel you need to suppress it in God’s house.
Sit towards the front or aisle, where it is easier for little ones to see and hear. As they feel comfortable, let them come to the tables to color and interact.
Quietly explain what’s going on in the worship service. Children are curious and natural learners, so embrace that. If you have questions or need help explaining something, feel free to ask those around you.
Participate as much as you comfortably can. Sing the hymns, pray the prayers, and say the responses. Children learn from your actions and example.
If you must leave the service with your child, feel free to do so. The ushers are happy to direct you where you need to go. But please come back. As Jesus said, “Let the children come to me...” (Matthew 19:14)
